The players receive an e-mail from the Silence Society telling them they need to find the dollhouse, their safest method of communication. Since it would be dangerous to reveal the location outright, they have devised a puzzle to lead you to it. Attached to the e-mail is an image.
The image consists of a solid-colored hexagon. In the center of the hexagon is Twitter's bird logo. The solution is to pull the image into editing software, grab the hex value of the image. The Twitter logo hints to hashtags, since hex color values are preceded by # as well. Searching by hashtag on Twitter will lead to a tweet containing a Dewey Decimal Classification number. This should take them to the library to a specific book. Near the book the players should notice the dollhouse, locked. If they grab the book the number points to, they should find notes with the lock combination (7-17-39).

Don't use this one use the one in the next post. Here's an example image with the color code #501ace, which if you interpret the numbers as letters spells solace.
So as I was looking up color codes, I came up with the idea that we could spell out an interesting word with the value. Here's what I discovered: It's very easy to find a color code that has not been used as a hash tag on twitter at all. Just pick a random color and it will probably be clear. People have made some stupid novelty account bots that have posted about hex colors = words so a lot of words already show up, kind of giving it away. (ex: twitter.com/search?src=typd&q=%23f001ed). I looked through various words for a while using a Scrabble generator to see if I could find anything interesting using abcdefilso. Words I liked:
Aisles (a151e5) kind of helps make the library connection since the books are in aisles. This code was completely unused. Belief (be11ef) ties into knowledge. What I don't like is i and l right after another makes it harder to pick the word out. This code was completely unused. Defies (def1e5) clues in on defiance since that'll be a major theme later on. This code was pointed out by a hex-word bot. Defile (def11e) kind of creepy, suffers from sequential i/l issue. Pointed out by a bot. Falses (fa15e5) hints at the lies going around. Unused. Fooled (f001ed) suggests you're being fooled. Pointed out by a bot. Solace (501ace) since the dollhouse is kind of a place of solace for the messages that the society needs to distribute. This was not pointed out by a bot, but is randomly in some tweet by a guy who posted some code.
I'm looking for preferences on: Using a word vs. not using a word Using a word with no mentions vs. with mentions
If you find another cool word to use post it!
Also my thought was that if we name the image file it helps to draw attention to it if the word is meaningful.
